This ash tray was part of a series of Pittsburgh Pirate player trays sold in the late 40's/early 50's. It's of Vic Lombardi - one of their starting pitchers. A picture of Lombardi is in the center of this 4.5" in diameter tray. It is in near mint condition.
Victor Alvin Lombardi (September 20, 1922 in Reedley, California – December 7, 1997) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He pitched from 1945-1950 with the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the starting pitcher in two games of the 1947 World Series for the Dodgers.
