These two amazing statues are from the personal collection of artist Fred Kail. They depict Hall of Famers Sam Huff of the N.Y. Giants and Art Donovan of the Baltimore Colts. They are more recent castings that were cast from his original 1956 sculpture. each was hand-painted by Mr. Kail. They are 9.5" tall  and are signed by Mr. Kail under the base. The coloring and helmet design are superb.

WORDS FROM FRED KAIL:

"These 9.5" figures are from my personal collection and perhaps reflect my own sentiments from my friendship with Art Donovan. these figures are essentially Artist proofs, having been cast some years ago- directly from the original 1956 sculpture which I still posses. All egedly, this "figure" was the very first NFL figurine back in 1956. I originally  made them for the Colts, Redskins and Eagles followed in 1957,58 and 59 by other teams in both the NFL and college levels. Each were personally hand-painted and sold for the hefty sum of $5. The figure was later cast in 1960 in Japan and marketed by Santa Claus Programs as "Joe Jolter" in the colors of the then 14 NFL teams. The 3 point figure was tabbed "Bruce Bruiser". Santa Claus Programs had an active NFL player in each of the cities as the exclusive salesman for the figures. My good friend, Andy Nelson, was the salesman for the Maryland area. "
