WOW! Here's a fantastic issue of Sports Illustrated. It's their very first issue dated 8/16/54 and pictures Eddie Mathews on the cover. This issue is special for many reasons, but in particular for the tri-fold pullout of 1954 Topps Baseball cards. Some of the cards pictured include Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Ed Mathews, Duke Snider, Richie Ashburn, Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby and Ted Williams. Both the front and backs to the cards are pictured. This example has a strong spine and overall is in excellent plus condition.
