60's CLEVELAND BROWNS "KAIL" RUNNING BACK STATUE w/BASE

Here's a very rare Fred Kail statue from a short-lived series issued in the mid 60's. It's of the Cleveland Browns and it's of a running back.This series did not use his trade-mark "Joe Jolter" pot -bellied player- instead opting for a more realistic looking plater. These were originally made as a desk accessory(see the last 2 pictures of the Colts pen holders). They would have had a screw embedded into one of the feet for attachment onto the accessory. On this example, the screw has become detached. It comes with a wooden base(we do not believe the base is vintage) that is signed on the bottom by Mr. Kail. The statue can still be screwed into the base and will present beautifully. These running back Kails are very hard to find.
