These incredible paper-mache figurines were part of a comical series made in Italy circa late 40's. The set came as a blue team and a identical red team that included umpires. Each one shows baaseball players in funny poses.

The first in this lot is a catcher chasing a ball. He is about to trip over a baseball bat. The second figure is of a fielder making an error. The taller player measures about 3.5" tall. As is typical with this series, both figurines have paint loss. They still display beautifully and are a must have for any sports figural collection.
