This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/13/2010
This super rare doll is from the AFL earliest series that is commonly known as the "Baggy Pants". It's from the very early 60's. This one is of the Dallas Texans (1960-1963) who would eventually move to Kansas City and become the Chiefs. The doll has super bright coloring and strong decals. The head had some professional restoration around the rim. It displays as near mint. The doll comes in its original hard to find box.
THE TEXANS:
Originally named the Dallas Texans, the club was founded by Lamar Hunt in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL. In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City, Missouri and were renamed the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans would win the AFL Championship in 1962.
