This is one of the real "toughies" in the hobby. The Gold base Mays is different from the more common white base Mays doll is several ways. of course, the obvious is the different color base. The doll also corrected the spelling of his name on the base (the White base Mays dolls spell his first name Wilie). the other difference is the addition of the number "24" decaled onto his back. This doll has some minor problems, but still displays nicely. The decals show wear and there is minor roughness under the rim.
