As the Vietnam War escalated and became a unpopular American topic, toy manufacturers decided to cut back on their war themed merchandise. This Johnny Hero doll was a direct answer to Hasbro's G.I. Joe. The doll was sports themed and accessories could be bought to dress the doll in. This example is about 13" tall and comes with a metal peg in his hand to hold bats & footballs. The owner could buy his favorite Major League Baseball of Pro-Football team outfit (see following lots). This doll is in near perfect condition and comes in its original box. The box is in rough condition.
