In our over 20 years in the hobby, we have never seen this variation of the Babe Ruth clock that was issued shortly after his death in 1948. This version also contains a built in radio. The clock features an amazing bust of Ruth with 2 engraved baseballs on each side of it. One ball reads "One Season- 60 Home Runs" and the other "Lifetime- 714 Home Runs". They are all made to simulate bronze, but are most probably white metal. The clock radio sits on a wooden base. There is an attached plaque over the clock that reads "Abbotwares". Both clock and radio are electric. The clock keeps good time and works perfectly. The radio is not working, but may only need a slight adjustment. One of the balls is a little loose on the base, but we believe that this can be easily tightened. It is otherwise in excellent condition. Remember, this is a very rare version of this piece and one that you may not see again for a very long time.
