1993 ESCO LOU GEHRIG STATUE

Manufactured by Esco (the Entertainment Statue Co.) of Canton, Ohio where this statue of Lou Gehrig was made. This chalkware statue is a true pieces of art. The craftsmanship is evident, and the likeness is quite accurate. Seemingly to avoid paying royalties to the pop culture figures whose images they were using, they only did runs of 100 statues at a time for each design. Lou Gehrig is in a kneeling position measuring 14-1/2" tall. Gehrig (which is extremely tough to locate) was issued in 1993. The original manufacturer's/artist marking is etched on the back of the base. It's in excellent + condition.
