Of all the Gibbs-Conner pieces we've been priveleged to handle, this one may be the finest and saddest. It is of the Dodgers mascot bum semingly waving good-bye to Brooklyn as he waits for a bus headed for Los Angeles. The front of the tray is embossed with the year 1957- which was the last year the Dodgers would play in Brooklyn. This may have been one of the last pieces produced by the company, as Gibbs-Conner would close its doors shortly after. The bum is standing on his suitcase that bears a tag- "Los Angeles". It is a magnificent piece with a unique and interesting style. It was made so that if a cigarette was left smoking in the tray, the smoke would filter up and blow out of his cigar. It is bright & shiny and in near mint condition. If you are a Brooklyn Dodgers collector or a fan of the works of Gibbs-Conner- you must own this classic piece. It is the only one that we've ever seen. Simply put- it's magnifico!
