We haven't seen many of these magnificent statues in several years. It's part of a series of college football mascots made by an unknown company circa 50's sometimes referred to as Family Portraits. This New Mexico Lobos measures 12" tall. It was carved out of a single block of wood and painted beautifully to reflect the team's colors. There is a crack in the wood base, but this defect does affect its appearance greatly. These statues are even more defined than the Carter-Hoffman series. The statues in this series are all considered rare and this one is an absolute beauty.
