As impressive as some of the team banks and statues produced by the Gibbs-Conner Company are, this promotional Dodgers statue may be the most awesome. It measures a whopping 24" tall and was designed as a "point of sale"merchandiser to promote the smaller "G-C" items. As is well documented, this line never actually was sold to the general public and only a handful of pieces are known to exist(You can read about ITPC's Gibbs- Conner estate find by clicking on the Blog button at the top of each page). The statue is absoltely magnificent looking. The Dodgers bum mascot holds a baseball bat in one hand and stands on a base. It has embossed lettering across the chest on on the hat. The bat contains the "G-C" initials on the label. The coloring is super bright. The feet came to us detached from the base, but it is now solidly re-glued back on the base without spoiling the integrity of the statue. It has to be one of the finest figural pieces in the hobby and one of only a few examples of promotional statues produced. It really will be an "eye-catcher' in your collection.
